Carrageenan is one of the food additive that extracted from red seaweed that commonly know as Irish Moss. Irish Moss is usually live at the rocky parts of the atlantic coast of European and North America that grows with a form of discloid holdfast and branches four to five times in a fan-like manner. although it live in the sea, it need minimum of sunlight so you have not to worry about the existence of it.

Carrageenan usually used in traditional cooking for hundreds of years in British Isles. Now, it’s widely used in food industry, especially for thickening or gelling agent. You could find carrageenan in meat product, dessert & confectionarry, dairy product and also some beverages.
